Vision Testing & Refraction:

  • Conduct thorough eye exams to assess visual acuity, color vision, depth perception, and overall eye health.
  • Perform refraction tests to determine refractive errors (myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism, presbyopia) and recommend appropriate corrective lenses (glasses or contact lenses).
  • Operate diagnostic equipment such as slit-lamp machines, autorefractors, and tonometers to examine the eye and test for conditions like cataracts, glaucoma, and retinal diseases.

Patient Management & Care:

  • Provide expert recommendations on corrective lenses, contact lenses, and low vision aids.
  • Diagnose and manage common eye conditions such as dry eyes, conjunctivitis, and ocular allergies.
  • Educate patients on eye health, preventive care, and the proper use of corrective devices.
  • Refer patients to ophthalmologists or other healthcare providers for advanced treatments or surgeries.

Clinical Leadership:

  • Mentor and guide Junior Optometrists and support staff.
  • Ensure the highest standards of patient care, professionalism, and accuracy in clinical procedures.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in optometry and incorporate best practices into the clinic.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Optometry (B.Optom or M.Optom).
  • Additional certifications in specialized areas (e.g., contact lenses, low vision) are a plus.

Experience:

  • Minimum 2-5 years of clinical experience in optometry, including advanced diagnostics, refraction, and patient management.
  • Familiarity with handling slit-lamp machines, autorefractors, and tonometers.
