General Ophthalmology Fellowship
Job Summary:
Candidates will receive training in diagnosing and managing common eye diseases, covering areas such as clinical evaluation, use of investigative procedures, medical treatment, surgical interventions, and research.
The clinical training includes rotations through various subspecialties in the outpatient department. Fellows will also be encouraged to conduct thorough evaluations of patients’ issues, using logical and clinical data to make precise diagnoses.
Program Details:
- As a comprehensive fellow, doctors will rotate through different specialties for 3 months each during the 2-year tenure. The specialties include:
- Cataract and Refractive
- Vitreo-Retina
- Glaucoma
- Paediatric Ophthalmology
- Oculoplasty
- Ample exposure to imaging modalities like: PENTACAM, ASOCT, ABERROMETRY, Ocular surface analysis and meibography (OSA), Intraoperative OCT, OCT-Angiography, Fundus Fluorescein Angiography, Colored fundus photography with Autofluorescence, USG-Bscan, Ultrasound Biomicroscopy, Gonioscopy, UBM, Anterior OCT RNFL, HVF, Syringing
- Training in pre-operative care and counseling of patients undergoing all types of procedures.
- Hands-on surgical training in cataracts as well as all types of specialty surgeries: Observation, Assisted, Wet lab, Individual performance of surgeries
- Weekly case discussions, seminars, and journal club presentations.
- Soft skills training in: Communication, Counseling, Administrative management of hospitals
- The program offers an opportunity to gain both clinical and evidence-based experience.
